Itinerary

Meet the tour guide

– Move to Mokpo by a private car (4h 40m) – Arrive at Mokpo Marine Cable Car. The cable car cross length of 3.23 kilometers and Maximum height of 155 meter. It offers visitors an amazing view of the old downtown area of Mokpo, and the surrounding natural scenery, including Yudalsan Mountain and the southern sea.

– Gohado Observatory. It is an observatory made in the shape of Panokseon, the warship of the Joseon Dynasty. After enjoying the scenery from the Observatory, take the cable car back.

– Mokpo Modern History Museum. As one of the oldest buildings found in Mokpo, it was built in 1900 for consul duty during the Japanese colonial era. It had been used as Mokpo City Hall, municipal library, and Mokpo Cultural Institute. Now, It has an important role as a realistic place to learn modern history.

– Sihwa alley. “Sihwa” refers to the poems and pictures that now ornate the walls of this little village. As the younger generation moved out of the town, people began to paint on the wall and it attracts many tourists now.

– Mokpo Skywalk. Mokpo Skywalk is located near the coast of Yudal Amusement Park. It is 54m in length and 15m in height, and you can experience the feeling of walking on the sea from 15m in the sky.

– Mokpo Dongbu market. You can see the current state of the Korean traditional market.

– Move to Shinan (1hr)

– Gidong Grandparents painting. The camellia tree grows witty over the head of the mural of the old couple. So, It's a good place to stop by and take a photo. – Purple Island. Purple Island means Banwol-do & Parkji-do two neighboring Islands. Shinan wanted to transform the island into an attractive tourist attraction, and began painting everything on the island in purple. The roofs, streets, sidewalks and bridges were painted in a lovely color of purple. Now, Purple Island became a rising Instagrammable Destination. Take a photo in the purple world.

– Move to Haenam (2hr)

– Daeheungsa temple. It is a main temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism. The temple itself and the mountain walk to reach it are beautiful in all seasons.

– Ttangkkeut Observatory. Ttangkkeut means “The ends of land” and Ttangkkeut Observatory is located in the southernmost part of Korea. You can ride a monorail and go up to the mountaintop with an observatory comfortably.

– Move to Wando (45m). Take a ferry and enter “Bogildo Island”

– Seyeon-jeong pavilion. It is located in Bogildo Yun Seondo garden. Yun Seondo, the civilian courtier, poet, and scholar from the Joseon period spent the remaining days of his life in this garden. The pavillion is exquisitely wrought part of the garden to ensure visitors’ appreciation of the scenic beauty.

– Dongcheonseoksil. It refers to an unexampled place of scenic beauty where a Taoist hermit dwells, and is situated at the highest place in the area for purposes of resting and reading.

– Yesong-ri Beach. It is a unique beach with pebbles instead of sand. The harmony of black pebbles, blue ocean, and evergreen grove creates a beautiful sight. The sound of the black pebbles rolling under the waves is great.

– Move to Haenam (45m). Take a ferry and go back to the land

– Move to Gwangju (2h 30m)

– After dinner, visit Sajik Park Observatory. It’s tower observatory that you can look down the entire Gwangju area and enjoy the downtown’s beautiful night view.

– Move to Seoul (4hr)

– Drop off at the destination.

– Gyeongbokgung Palace. It is built in 1395, Joseon dynasty. It is arguably the most beautiful and the largest palace in Seoul.

– Myeongdong. Seoul’s shopping mecca and must-see for tourists.
